This tour includes all the attractions in the Golden Circle Tour, the most popular tour from Reykjavik. In addition you experience the unique landscape of Þjórsárdalur and get a close view of Mt. Hekla, Iceland’s most active volcano.
First we head east the main road and then we turn north towards the highlands. We drive past the Mt. Hekla and to Þjórsárdalur valley. There we stop to see many of the most beautiful and best known waterfalls in Iceland, Urriðafoss, Þjófafoss, Háifoss, Hjálaparfoss and many smaller waterfalls at Gjáin.
From Þjórsárdalur the route of the Golden Circle is only stone throw away. As we are already in the highlands of Iceland, we take the Golden Circle in opposite direction. Therefore we avoid the rush of visitors around noon at Iceland’s most visited attractions.
First we visit Gullfoss, then Geysir and finally we head to Thingvellir on our way back to Reykjavik.

Remember the weather is everchanging here in Iceland.
So best to take along both good rain and windgear and good shoes.
Hiking shoes are best suited for Iceland’s rough terrain even on these day tours – If you want to get close and personal or get that good photo shot you might have to cross some rugget land.
