The Volcano and Rhyolite Mountains

This tour takes you to Landmannalaugar, a volcanic landscape in the interior of Iceland. From there you can take short hikes in the highlands and bath in a natural hot spring. Landmannalaugar is a place not easily forgotten.

On our way to Landmannalaugar we visit the foothills of volcano Mt. Hekla, feared in the past as the Passage to Hell. Hekla is the most active volcano in Iceland and a popular motive for artists. We also stop by a midieval farmhouse replica and “The stamp of God”, a unique harmony of waterfalls.

Remember the weather is everchanging here in Iceland.
So best to take along both good rain and windgear and good shoes.
Hiking shoes are best suited for Iceland’s rough terrain even on these day tours – If you want to get close and personal or get that good photo shot you might have to cross some rugget land.

You will travel in a 4-wheel-drive minivan that is as comfortable on the main road as it’s able to take you to the rugged and senic highland of Iceland. We always travel in a group of maximum 12 people and every trip is a relaxed and enjoyable expirience that is eaqally welcoming for single travelers, families and small groups.
